Amelia Marvit (Class of 2024) - Founder and Editor-In-Chief
Amelia founded the Crash Review Team as a freshman in the Fall of 2020. Her dream was to make the USC scientific community more equitable and inclusive by sharing high-quality resources with her classmates. Amelia also contributes to clinical trials at CSI-Cancer and works as USC’s first and only official organic chemistry tutor. In 2023, she was awarded the Okin Award for the most outstanding student in the Biology department. In her free time, Amelia enjoys exploring Los Angeles on her tricked-out kick scooter, creating bizarre culinary masterpieces in her microwave, and relaxing with her beloved cat, Mozzarella Grignard Gallifrey Garibaldi Marvit.
C, Maxfield Hohn (Class of 2024) - Writer, Editor, and Chief Illustrator
Among the original members of the Crash Review Team, Maxfield has a vested interest in making science more digestible and enjoyable in an environment where it can often feel overwhelming. He is an undergraduate researcher in the Jakowek-Petzinger lab and works as a chemistry and biology tutor through USC Dornsife, among other commitments on and off campus. While his primary interests (and degree path) are in the field of neuroscience, Maxfield also invests his time pursuing a minor in philosophy, singing in multiple choirs, and doodling on the whiteboards that decorate his apartment.
Jordan Wang (Class of 2024) - Contributor
Jordan is pursuing a B.S. in Human Biology and a M.S. in Global Medicine. He currently volunteers on Skid Row as a tutor for children facing housing insecurity and also works part-time as an emergency medical technician. In his free time he loves to surf in the summer, snowboard in the winter, and skateboard all year round.
John Pace (Class of 2025) - Contributor
John is a rising senior pursuing both a B.S. of Neuroscience through Dornsife and a progressive Masters of Health Administration through USC's Price School of Public Policy. Interested in education and neuroscience, John has been active in clubs and societies such as Interaxon, USC Science Outreach, Phi Kappa Psi, and served as a committee member on USC's Undergraduate Student Government. In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his dogs JJ & Brize and with his friends around USC.
Sebastian “Sebi” Torres (Class of 2024) - Contributor
Sebi is simultaneously pursuing a Bachelors and Masters in Aerospace Engineering. He currently works as a Software and Course Developer at the USC Aviation Safety & Security Program, where his research on Artificial Intelligence in Aviation Safety awarded him the 2023 ISASI Kapustin Memorial Scholarship. In his free time, he’s an avid guitar player, a huge Swiftie, and hosts a mental health podcast titled Late Night Drives.
Carol Esperanza Alata (Class of 2024) - Contributor
Carol is pursuing a double bachelor's in Computational Neuroscience and Biological Sciences. She is actively involved in neuroscience research and has the long-term goals of being admitted to MD-PhD programs and entering neurosurgical residency. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, rock climbing, running, and hanging out with friends.
Alicia Tsung (Class of 2024) - Contributor
Alicia is majoring in Chemical Engineering with a Biochemical Emphasis and will be pursuing a master's degree in Materials Engineering. On campus, she is involved in USC MEDesign and works in the USC Department of Biomedical Engineering as a research assistant. Outside of school, she enjoys playing volleyball, working out, listening to music, practicing piano, and watching k-dramas.
